BRIEF SUMMARY:
42-year-old scientist Shinkai Genichi (Oda Yuji)
was once in the international spotlight during his student days. Unable to
forget that period of glory, he neglected his family even though he has a child
and devoted himself to his own research, but kept meeting setbacks. Now
Genichi’s disenchanted wife Sayoko (Suzuki Anju) has run off, he is also
unemployed, has no money for rent, and even loses the house. All he has left is
their 5-year-old son Kota (Tanaka Kanau). But the simple Genichi continues to
pursue his dream as he raises Kota. Then one day, Genichi meets his
ex-girlfriend Hayasaka Mizuki (Hasegawa Kyoko) again after more than 10 years
and she gradually gets involved in his present circumstances. Mizuki is a
high-powered career woman who works at an big energy company. She is beautiful
and has a sharp mind but is still single even though she is around 40.
