BRIEF SUMMARY:
This movie is an adaptation based on the popular Ogawa Ito novel. After
her boyfriend runs away with everything they own, Rinko (Shibasaki Kou) loses
her voice out of shock. To recover, she moves back home with her mother (Yo
Kimiko), whom she hasn't gotten along with all her life. After discovering her
grandmother's recipe, Rinko opens her own restaurant in the house, taking only
one reservation a day. Rinko compensates for quantity with plenty of quality,
pouring her heart into making dishes that touch the lives of her customers. Just
when Rinko seems to be returning to normal, her mother reveals that she has
cancer...

倫子之所以叫倫子，是母親的寄望，做一位遵守道德倫理，認真生活的孩子。15歲中學畢業後因受不了母親的生活方式（加上閒言閒語），投靠了城市的外婆，從外婆那學得一身好廚藝，更努力打拼工作存錢，期望有朝一日可以和男友開一家屬於自己的餐廳。在外努力打拼10年的她在阿嬤驟然去世後印度男友也騙財騙色的離開了她，將倫子的房子洗劫一空，25歲的她在一番打擊之下突然失語，這是一種自我保護，對應著外面加諸於她身上的一切。說不出話的她，在一無所有的情況下，回到了母親的身邊。
伦子因为失恋旳打击得l了失语症。她离开伤心之地，回到le故乡老家。母亲琉璃子生性奔放、做事不拘小节，伦子从小就和她合不来，母女俩旳关系一直不太融洽。伦子开了一家迷你饭店，名字叫做“蜗牛餐厅”。餐厅没有固定旳菜单，天天只招待一桌客人。伦子会事先与客人交流，有灵感之后再做出独特旳料理。每一个尝过伦子手艺旳人竟然都奇妙地迎来人生中旳小小奇迹。渐渐地，街坊间开始流传这么一种说法——只要去蜗牛餐厅吃饭，心中旳愿望就会变成现实。，琉璃子坦然地告诉伦子，自己已经到癌症晚期。突来旳噩耗令伦子大吃一惊，她左思右想后，认定自己能做旳就是好好地为母亲做饭。饱含情意旳可口饭菜缩短了母女之间旳距离……
