Set in a small restaurant in the corner of a shopping district. The unusual

the lives of the restaurant's patrons, including a yakuza, an unsuccessful

由安倍夜郎創作的人氣漫畫《深夜食堂》榮獲了2009漫畫大獎，還被列日本“這本漫畫必讀！2009”的第三名，八月份這部作品被敲定改編電視劇，由出演《東京鐵塔》的小林薰以及松重豐等不少著名演員出演，10月14日該劇已經正式開播。
《深夜食堂》講述了發生在一個小餐館的故事，這裏的菜單隻有豬肉醬湯套餐一種，但是老闆可以根據客人的要求利用現有食材做出各種料理，而且他還會和客人一起帶出一個個充滿人情味的故事。來小餐館的有各式各樣的客人，有黑社會份子，有沒名氣的演員，還有上班族和OL三人組。
劇中店老闆由著名演員小林薰飾演，另外還有松重豐、須藤理彩和田智子等不少演員參加這部作品的拍攝。該劇導演松岡錠司曾執導過《打水的金魚》等作品，山下敦弘曾執導過《天然子結構》等作品，再加上豪華演員陣容和溫情的故事情結，這部深夜日劇一定會很受歡迎。
