由漫畫家
河合克敏所著的原作漫畫《鈴里高校書道部》，故事中在加拿大中學畢業後回國進入鈴里高中就讀的主角「大江緣」，因為書道社員人數不足而困擾的前輩們抓住了他的弱點，讓沒有任何書法經驗的大江就此進入了都是女生的書道社。而同樣也對書法一竅不通的女主角「望月結希」，雖然原本是以日本柔道第一為目標，卻也在因緣際會之下加入了書道社，並且從頭開始學習。而在電視劇的作品中，則是以女主角望月結希作為故事中心，參與演出的演員，包括了
朝倉あき、池松狀亮、中村倫也、赤井沙希等人也在開拍前一個月就展開了書法的集訓，。
