BRIEF SUMMARY:
Since 2000, the
odd pairing of Nakama Yukie (Gokusen) and Abe
Hiroshi (Hero) has tickled Japanese audiences
with this equally odd blend of Scooby-Doo and
The X-Files. After three seasons as a television
series, two television movies, and two feature
films, Trick celebrates its 10th anniversary
with the third feature film, Psychic Battle
Royale. This time, the magician and physicist
paranormal detective team attempts to expose
their toughest enemy yet - the contestants of a
psychic competition. Series director Tsutsumi
Yukihiko and writer Makita Mitsuharu return with
more of the same bizarre humor that shows the
truth is always stranger than fiction in the
world of Trick.
Physicist Ueda
(Abe Hiroshi), part of a duo that has debunked
many so-called supernatural phenomenon, is one
day approached by Shohei (Sato Takeru). He
claims that a group of self-proclaimed psychics
is about to battle over the right to rule his
village, and he wants Ueda to prove the psychics
to be frauds in order to stop the tradition.
Afraid to go alone, he tries to manipulate his
partner, professional magician Yamada (Nakama
Yukie), to join him on his mission, but he
doesn't know that Yamada is going to the village
to join the competition as well.

劇 情﹕某日，中森翔平前來拜訪物理學教授的上田次郎。翔平住在深山裡的萬練村，祖母是村裡的靈媒，由於她剛過世，村裡要舉辦一場比賽找出繼任人。雖然翔平是其中一位參加者，可是他希望上田可以與跟他回去，証明世上並沒有靈力。另一方面，山田奈緒子得知萬練村埋藏著財寶，於是決定前去參賽。
《圈套》系列10周年的紀念作品，時隔四年的新作《靈能力者 Battle Royale》為第三部劇場版，講述自稱天才物理學家上田和自稱人氣美女魔術師的山田這對拍檔再次合作，破解不可思議的離奇事件。本片由系列的原班人馬上陣，除導演堤幸彥，仲間由紀惠、阿部寬和生瀨勝久外，更加入佐藤健、夏帆、松平健和藤木直人等人共演。
