BRIEF SUMMARY:
Ohno (Yoshioka Hidetada) has been an organ
transplant coordinator for several years. He and his senior, fellow coordinator
Kuramoto (Santamaria Yusuke), cannot hide the conflicting struggles of medical
transplants after a revision of the organ donation law. Pressured by the
Ministry of Health for cases of successful transplants, the director of
Takenouchi General Hospital (Hirata Mitsuru) gets desperate. Six-year-old
Tachibana Kaito, who suffers from an enlarged heart and has been waiting for a
transplant for four years, is hospitalised at an affiliated hospital. His
mother, Miki (Aso Yumi), fervently hopes for a transplant surgery in the
country. This is the only way left for him. Then one day, an accident occurs.
Tezuka Ken, a six-year-old, falls from the veranda of an apartment. He is
immediately brought to Takenouchi General Hospital, one of the big hospitals in
Tokyo, but is pronounced brain dead. There appear to be signs of unnatural
fractures and bruises on Ken’s body and it is suspected that he was ill treated.

對器官捐贈的看法和價值。當一個人的生命走到終點，將好的器官移植到有需要的病人身上，讓生命重新延續。移植協調者（簡稱CO）是在整個器官捐贈及移植的過程中肩負重要的角色，每天穿梭在醫院中，面對生與死的沉重。劇集開始大野達郎(吉岡秀隆)帶着6歲孩子捐出的心臟從醫院出發，器官被倉本和史(中山裕介)
中途搶走，接着交代六週前發生的事故。
從事數年的移植協調人大野和前輩倉本就器官移植法修定後的移植醫療的難度發生了爭吵。面對著，對親人可以優先移植，和就算不知道本人的意思，只要有家人的同意就可以移植的事例，接觸志願者的家屬後，大野從工作中得到了很好的鼓勵。
就在這時，在修改法中同意了未滿十五歲的植物人的器官移植的這一問題受到關注。竹內醫院的院長被厚勞省要求盡快做出未滿十五歲的第一個案例。在危險狀態下被送到icu的擴張型心肌症的立花海斗和期望著移植的母親美樹。從公寓陽台上掉下來而被送到竹內醫院的手塚健和正在動搖的母親由比。顯露出權利，推獎移植的謎一樣的製藥公司的老大齊籐。一顆僅僅6歲得小心臟裡聚集著多少大人們的迷惑。被成懷疑兒童虐待，被瞄準的醫療利權和覆蓋著移植的公平性裡面的壓力……。雖然大野決定為了志願者的一家，還有抱有活下去的希望的受取人的一家真誠的面對，
