BRIEF SUMMARY: On
an oppressively hot summer afternoon in 1999, a 23-year-old youth was met at a
gloomy cafe in Kita Kyushu. “I … I killed him with these hands.” The person who
declares this forcefully is Machida Michihiko (Mashima Hidekazu), a young man in
the depths of despair over the coldblooded murder of his beloved wife, Kaori
(Tanaka Konatsu), which suddenly transformed him into a family member of the
victim. The man who cannot hide his bewilderment at those words is Kitagawa
Shinichi (Eguchi Yosuke), the reporter of a weekly magazine. While Machida
mourns the murder of his wife, he boldly continues to challenge the law time and
time again. However, it is never a lonely struggle for him. There are people
encouraging and supporting him as he battles against despair. The journalist
Kitagawa, who pursued Machida as an interview subject, has been a big support. A
journalist’s fate is to avidly chase cases and tenaciously follow well known
personalities around, but in an ironic twist, he is taught about the human
essence which is missing in him, by a young man who has lost his family …

本村洋的3300日」(新潮社刊）一書的感人故事。寬待加害者、藐視被害者家屬的司法和少年法。面對這矛盾而煩惱的記者以及年輕的被害者家屬。強而有力的描寫出他們堅定的生活方式，和足以改變人生的真實友情。
因妻子被18歲少年殺害而沉溺在哀傷中，好幾次被司法的厚牆阻擋，卻還是鼓起勇氣持續挑戰的青年。他以無法保護家人的悔恨，和對遇害親人的愛情，漸漸將司法改變。
